Findspot: In the mosaic floor at the eastern end of the nave, in front of the bema.

Physical description : 

Mosaic inscription within a plain rectangular frame of black and orange tesserae, ca. 235 cm long and 81 cm wide. The six-line text opens with a horned cross; the last line, shorter than the others, is centered and flanked by two crosses and two sprigs. Sprigs also mark the end of lines 2 and 5. The characters, 9-10 cm high, are traced in black tesserae and belong to the square alphabet. Abbreviations are marked with stigmas.

       ἐπισκ(όπου) καὶ τοῦ θεοσεβ(εστάτου) πρεσβ(υτέρου) καὶ χω-

       ρεπισκόπου Καλοποδίου {(καὶ)} καὶ τοῦ

4     θεοσεβεστάτου Παύλου πρεσβ(υτέρου) καὶ ἡ-

       γουμένου ἐγένετο τὸ ἔργον τοῦτο

Translation: 

Under the most holy and saintly bishop Antonius and the most God-fearing priest and chorepiscopus Calopodius and the most God-fearing priest and abbot Paulus, this work of the mosaic was done.
