State of preservation/which parts were uncovered:
According to the excavator, scattered architectural remains belonged to a Byzantine basilica. The only remais that were excavated were dated to the Crusader period.
General outline:
If the site at the foot of the Mt. of Olives was indeed a monastery, it was probably founded sometime in the fifth or sixth century CE, although an earlier date is not to be discounted.
