State of preservation/which parts were uncovered:

Remains of two adjacent and parallel chapels were partially excavated. A large adjacent hall was not excavated.

General description

Churche/s:

Two chapels, adjacent to each other, were excavated. The northern chapel served as a martyrion, the inscription found in the mosaic pavement mentions St. Thecla. The southern chapel served as a baptistery. It is possible that the two chapels formed part of a large basilica.

The two chapels unearthed in Kafr Kama formed part of a larger complex that was not excavated due to modern era construction over the site. The excavators suggested that the entire complex may have been a larger basilica or a monastery.
