State of preservation/which parts were uncovered:
A chancel screen panel was found in a survey in the 1950's. In a salvage excavation in 2006, remains of mosaic pavements in a poor state of preservation, some ruined by modern day construction work, were uncovered. A tomb dating to the Byzantine period was found as well. The total area covered with the mosaics, consisting of several separate floors has a circumference of ca. 40 m, indicating a large complex with several rooms.
Illustrative material:
Churche/s:
The church structure was not found. A chancel screen panel (1.18 x 0.90 m), featuring a carved cross within a garland, testifies to its existence.
Burials:
A hewn burial chamber was found and partially excavated. Remains of Byzantine pottery and human bones were found.
