Discussion:
During their visit to Nessana, Woolley and Lawrence cleared the Northeast Church, recording walls that were preserved to a height of 2-2.3 m. They identified the structure as belonging to a monastery based on an inscribed tombstone mentioning a monk (Ovadiah 1970: 341-393). Unfortunately, nothing remains of the structure and a full investigation of it is possible.
