Although there are few remains of the site that enable a proper understanding of the complex, its location and the scant remains are strong pointers to its function as a monastery.

General outline: 
The site has not been excavated. It was probably founded sometime in the sixth century. Colorful tesserae may indicate the presence of a church.

The pottery examined in the survey was dated generally to the Byzantine period.
