Khirbet Kafr Jul - church (?)

General description:

Two fragments of the mosaic floors were revealed within the structure, idenfied as the anticipated church. The northeastern room was decorated with the mosaic floor featured geometric patterns: crisscrossing double lines, which formed rhombuses with diamond patterns in the centers of the figures ( https://dig.corps-cmhl.huji.ac.il/sites/default/files/illustrative_mater... ). The other fragment featured floral patterns and comprised the corner of the mosaic carpet. Apparently, it was fragment of the peopled scroll motif, which framed the central composition ( https://dig.corps-cmhl.huji.ac.il/sites/default/files/styles/large/publi... ). Only the five-lobed element was traceable. The tesserae wer e of three main colours: white, black, red.
