Text:

Translation:

O Lord God of the holy and glorious martyr George, remember for good Thy servant Demetrius the deacon who built this holy building, and George (his) son and all their household.

Commentary:

Γεοργίου for Γεωργίου. τὼν for τὸν at end of line 2. Haplography in line 3, where παν(τὸς) τοῦ becomes ΠΑΝΤΟΥ. The expression "remember for good" resembles a  typical Jewish formula, generally found in synagogues. Demetrius was a deacon responsible for the church - probably a family church which had no resident priest of its own.

Date:
early 6th cent.
