One-line inscription in square script and nicely rendered letters cut on the top frame of an open-work chancel screen. The inscription is closed on both sides by an isosceles cross. Square script, average height of the characters 2.2 cm with small triangular apices.

Translation: 

For the res[t of … o]f Sera[pion? …]
