Located at the opening of the apse of the diaconicon. Now at the Oriental Institute Museum, Chicago.
The inscription is traced in black tesserae on a white background, within a black frame measuring 50x385 cm. The letters are an average 9 cm high and belong to the round alphabet. The left part of all three lines is damaged. A diagonal stroke and a stigma are used as abbreviation marks. The numerals are marked with a horizontal stroke. The iota in the word ἰνδικτίονος has trema. The text begins with a cross.
☩ [Κ(ύρι)ε βοήθ(ε)ι ? Θ]εοδώρῳ μαγιστρ(ιανῷ) καὶ Θεοφίλας καὶ Βασσίλ[ῳ]
ἐπισ[ - - . Ἐγέ]νετο ἡ ψίφωσις τοῦ μεσαύλου καὶ τοῦ διακονικοῦ
ἐπὶ τ[ῶν - - ] πρε(σβυτέρων) Ἡλίου καὶ Βασσίλου, ἰνδικτίονος ζʹ, ἔτους φϙαʹ.
[Lord, help (?) Th]edorus the magistratus and Theophila and Basil the . . . The mosaic of the court and of the diaconicon was made in the days of the [most pious] priests Elias and Basil, in the 7th indiction, year 591.
