One of three devotional inscriptions engraved on a chalk voussoir (44 x 33 cm). Semi cursive script, letters 1 cm high.

Translation: 

Stephen and Mena, the sons of the blessed Vitalinus (?). Lord, help, Holy Sergius . . . 

Apparatus: 

L.4:  Since the name Βιτάλιμος is unknown, Kirk–Welles suggested Βιταλῖν̣ον = Latin Vitalinus.

Commentary: 

Other devotional texts found on chalk in Room 7 (Kirk–Welles, nos. 52-61) include an invocation of the "God of all saints" and intercession of Mary Theotokos (no. 52 a), invocations of Christ the Lord (nos. 53, 55, 59, 61), and of Saints Stephen and Sergius (no. 60).
