Translation:
Offering of the presbyter (priest or, in this case, simply “elder”) Simoniuos, goldsmith. The Lord of this place will protect him and his children and his wife (L. Di Segni).
Summary:
A six lines offering inscription in a tabula ansata of the elder Simoniuos, a goldsmith, near the main entrance to the nave.
According to Di Segni, ΚΟΣΤΟΥΤΟΣ· of the ed. pr. should be read as Κ(υρι)ος του τ(οπ)ος. Hence, unlike the translation given in the ed. pr., Simoniuos the goldsmith was not a custodian.
