<Theodosius’ miracles: Ciricus, the Comes Orientis, obtained from Theodosius a tattered garment of his and went to war against the Persians wearing it as a protection and a charm> … For the sake of his brilliant (victory, that brought about) the common salvation of the entire Roman state, (Ciricus) gave from his own substance, for the benefit of the monastery, the estates called Kourone and Antikourone.(tr.
