In the mosaic carpet of the prayer hall of the Cave Church, near the carpet's eastern border.
Three-line inscription within a tabula ansata (30 x 30 cm). Inscription 270 cm long; letters ca. 7 cm high. Lines of script separated by yellow strips (1 cm wide). Text begins and ends with florets. Horizonal stroke above sacred name.
(floret)
Remember us, O Lord, with the favor thou has to thy people; visit us with thy salvation, that we may behold the good of thine elect.
Psalm quotation within a tabula ansata, in the mosaic carpet of the prayer hall.
This is not a commonly quoted verse from Psalms (for another example, see ILGS, no. 1522). It is likely that τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν, "the elect," was understood to refer to the monastic community itself.
