The structure is rectangular with two courtyards and a cistern. A number of columns were found in the structure. Northeast of the structure, a second large building (18.3 x 18.3 m) was found, called by the locals "El-Keniseh".
The complex was enclosed in walls.
Two courtyards were located in the southern part of the complex. In the western of the two courtyards a hewn cistern was found.
Southeast of the complex, remains of a tower constructed of unusually large stones was found. Its relation to the complex suggested to be a monastery is unclear.
Remains of a church were identified by Mader in the eastern courtyard. Apparently the southern wall of the structure was built over the apse of the church and some of its stones were incorporated into the walls of the structure. The atrium of the church was possibly where the eastern of the two courtyards stands today.
A hewn cistern was located in the eastern of the two courtyards. This possibly belonged to the atrium of the church.
