Mosaic pavement in Room 6 (Ovadiah).

Physical description : 

Four-line mosaic inscription, of which only the left side remains, surrounded by a red, a brown and a black circles. The inscription is made of rough tesserae (35 pieces for 10 cm). Letters are 9.5 cm high in the first and fourth lines, and 11.5 cm high in the second and third lines. Each line is marked with a red line. The two middle lines use ligatures.

Κ(ύριο)ς φ[υλάξει]

τὴν ἴσ[οδόν σου καὶ]

τὴν ἔξο[δόν σου]


ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν (καὶ) ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος.

Translation: 

The Lord will guard thy coming in and going out, henceforth and forever. (Ovadiah)
