Paragraph:
46
Translation:
In the days of the Emperor Anastasius, the camp of the Saracens, that had been established by our holy father Euthymius was laid waste by barbarians. The leaders of the Saracens who lived there set up another camp near the monastery of Abba Martyrius, and founded a church there too; but the barbarians attacked them again and killed or took prisoners the people of the camp: the survivors scattered among various villages. For at that time there was a great and dreadful confusion all over the country, because of the barbarians, who made their raids with impunity.
