In the mosaic pavement at the middle passage from the central room of the baptistery (Locus 11) to the room adjoining it to the west (Locus 12).

Physical description : 

Four-line mosaic inscription within a rectangular frame; letters in black tesserae standing on guidlines. Some letters in l.4 are lost due to a repair of the mosaic. In l.4 ἐψήφωσε and ν τὰ ὧδε are engraved above each other but still in the same line.

Meas.: letters 8 cm.

Text: 

Ἐπὶ Προκοπίου πρεσβ(υτέρου) κ(αὶ) πα-

ραμονα(ρίου) Παῦλος πρεσβύ(τερος)

ὑπὲρ σωτηρίας αὐτοῦ κ(αὶ) ἀνα-

παύ(σεως) Μαρίας [ἀι]παρθέ(νου) ἐψήφωσεν τὰ ὧδε.

Translation: 

Paulus, the priest, paved these (places) here with mosaic under the priest and administrator Procopius on behalf of his salvation and the rest of Maria, eternal virgin. (CIIP)
