On two different ceramic fragments found in the excavations of Room 55 outside the northern wall of the monastery (a), and in Cave 69 (b).

Physical description : 

Two unrelated pieces of ceramic incised (a) or painted in red (b) with fragmentary inscriptions. According to Corbo, (a) probably belonged to a grey decorative plate, while (b) probably belonged to an amphora.

Translation: 

(a)  ... grant us grace ...

(b)  of Leontius

Commentary: 

Corbo suggests that (a) may be reminiscent of the Divine Liturgy.

Summary: 

Two fragmentary inscriptions on two pieces of ceramic, found in Room 55 outside the northern wall and in Cave 69.
