Translation:

Under the most God-loving Somm[os, abbot (? or priest, or deacon), for by] his efforts and (those) of Ele[utherios this here work was done (?).] And it was completed in the month of Artemiso[s ... ]

Commentary:

Sommos or Somas or Summos is a common Palestinian name, the only possible solution given the surviving letters; also the restoration Ele[utherios] is most likely. The name of Sommos was probably followed by his title, ἡγουμένου or πρεσβυτέρου or even διακόνου. For a similar wording (because by his efforts — usually meaning ‘at his expenses’ — a certain work was done), see Inscr. 2 in the church at Kh. Beiyudat (CAHL, pp. 267–268).
