Summary:
Confused description of the spring near the house of Mary, from a guidebook compiled 1137.
Commentary:

Wilkinson, p. 193n3-4, assumes that the only first part describing "the cave now included within the Church of the Annunciation (not yet built in the fourth century)" comes from the Egeria's itinerary of AD 381-384, while the spring in the second part "is clearly the crypt and spring which form part of the present Church of St Gabriel. Peter appears to have confused the two."
