(1) There was a certain man by the name of Theodore. He was very evil and wicked, vain and proud, as what he did in the end made clear. In appearance and clothing he was a monk. On the outside he wore a sheep's clothing, but inside he was a ravenous wolf, with a way of life like that of a ferocious beast. (2) He had a friend named Basil, who was his neighbor in the Spoudaion of the Resurrection, where together they lived. (3) One day, this wicked Theodore came to Abba Basil, his neighbor. - - -
