<Eudocia is urged by St. Symeon the Stylite to apply to Euthymius for spiritual guidance.> Having previously heard that the great Euthymius refused to come into town, Eudocia hastened to have a tower built on the highest spot in all the eastern desert, to the south of Euthymius’ laura, at a distance of about 30 stadia, wishing to avail herself of his divine teaching in that place very often.
