Then some people began to bother (Cyriacus) in the cave of St. Chariton; and, since the leader of the origenists, Nonnus, had died, their power had dissolved, the offensive against the orthodox had broken down and the heretics were busy in a struggle among themselves, the old man, now free of worries, retired from the cave of holy Chariton to Sousakim, in the 99th year of his life <AD 547>, and lived there in seclusion for 8 years.
