The site was surveyed a few times, providing slightly contradictory information. The results of an excavation were not published.
The monastery was surrounded by a wall (60 x 40 m, 2,400 m2), remaining to a height of 1-1.5 m.
The main entrance to the complex was on its northern side from which a corridor lead to the central courtyard.
The central courtyard had rooms to its north and east. Various installations were uncovered within it. A second courtyard was uncovered in the northern wing, surrounded by rooms.
The excavation revealed evidence of a second storey church, fragments of painted plaster and mosaic segments had fallen on the earthen floor below.
Dwelling cells were apparently located on the second storey.
An elongated hall south of the central courtyard was probably a refectory.
A large hall in the southwestern corner of the complex served as a kitchen, evidenced by a large baking oven, other installations and its proximity to the refectory.
A large baking oven was uncovered In the southern part of the kitchen.
The northern courtyard was surrounded by rooms. It forms a completly separate wing and may have served as a hostelry.
A vaulted cistern (8.5 x 5 m) was located beneath the norther courtyard.
