Abba Jordanes the grazer told us this story:

Two other anchorites and myself went to see Abba Nicholas in the ravine of Betasimous - for he resided in a cave, midway between the monastery of Saint Elpidius and the so-called monastery of the Strangers - and we found a layman with him … <edifying testimony given by the layman.>
