An apsidal chapel with a protruding apse, dated by an inscription to mid 5th c. Two more rooms, located farther west, were added later. |

Apsidal chapel |
An apsidal chapel is attached to the church on the north. A section along its southern wall was delineated by standing marble plates (now broken). It may mark the location of a sarcophagus. To its south there is a hole in the floor, seemingly to permit contact with an underlying relic. |

A place for the cult of relics was delineated by marble screens (now entirely broken), near the SE corner of the chapel. A sarcophagus might have been located there. A circular hole in the floor enable contact with a underground relic. |

A four-units structure was annexed on the north. The westernmost one served as a baptistery (see bellow), the two eastern ones were of a-liturgical function according to Michel. The easternmost was accessed from the outside east; that adjacent to it on the west was open to the sky, with a water cistern underneath. |
A prothesis chapel. See below. |
|
|
Apsidal chapel |
In Phase 2 (II.2) the annexed southern sacristy was replaced by an apsidal chapel, 4.82x18.80m in dimensions, accessed from near the eastern end of the aisle. Its main entrance was from the narthex which was extended to the south, to meet this addition. |
Quadrangular chapel |
The westernmost unit of the northern annex, rectangular and longer than the other three, was accessed through an opening in the northern wall of the narthex. This unit was mosaic-paved and had a water cistern underneath. Michel suggests that it served as a baptistery; the the extant circular font with a quadrifoil container (Ben-Pechat type 9a), 0.76 m high, 1.06 m in diameter, was standing near its eastern wall. An off-center opening in its eastern wall led to a second chamber, square in shape. It makes sense to assume that this room had a second opening to the northern aisle, though this is not indicated on Michel's reconstruction. |

|
Simple rectangular room |
Originally, in Phase 1, a simple sacristy was attached on the south, accessed from near the eastern end of the southern aisle. In Phae 2 this sacristy was replaced by a long apsidal chapel, that seemingly served as a prothesis chapel/diakonikon. |

Quadrangular chapel |
The western part of the church was flanked by two rectangular halls, set at the NW and SW corner of the cruciform internal space. The Northern one is better preserved. It was paved by limestone plates and holes for the legs of an alter were found near its eastern end. Hence its suggested identification here as a Prothesis chapel / Diakonikon. It was accessed by an opening from the northern aisle. A similar opening led to the SW hall. |

Quadrangular chapel |
In the second phase a rectangular chapel, 13.5 X 5.1 m, paved with colored mosaic floor with a medallion holding a sort of chrismon in its center, was attached to the church on the north. A square room was open to the chapel on the west. The attached chapel seems to had served as a prothesis chapel / diakonikon. |

Quadrangular chapel |
A unit of at least two interconnected rooms was annexed along the whole southern wall of the church. It looks like a quadrangular chapel, though no screen was discerned. The western, elongated room is rectangular, extending west even beyond the narthex. Its floor was white mosaic paved. In its northern wall was installed an opening to an underlying cistern. The eastern, square room had two openings in its northern wall. One connecting it to the southern aisle; a staircase installed in the second led down to the crypt. The room was paved in crude mosaic pavement, 0.34m higher than the floor of the basilica. The floor of the western unit is still 0.14m higher. |
Quadrangular chapel |
Abel (1919) suggested that the long hall attached to the basilical church on the south served as a baptistery, due to the fact that a water cistern is located underneath. No baptismal font was uncovered. It might had rather served as a prothesis chapel (see above). The water cistern extended also northward under the southern aisle. Its mouth is in the passage connecting the aisle and the said hall. |
