There is only one entrance in the western wall. The nave (3.2 m wide) is separated from the aisles (2.4 m wide) by two rows of three columns. The floor is paved with coloured mosaic with geometric and floral patterns. The apse is external, semi-circular. Depth of apse: 1.5 m; the chord: 2.5 m. The transverse bema raised one step above the floor of the hall. 1

13086 Emmaus; ʻImwas (Nicopolis) North Church Shephelah Apsidal chapel 10.5 X 10.5 m. in dimensions, located behind ‎the church, to ‎its east, and ‎could be ‎accessed from ‎within the ‎church through two openings on either side of the apse. ‎Four columns ‎divide the ‎internal space, ‎mirroring the ‎division into a ‎nave and ‎aisles within ‎the church. At ‎the east end is ‎an apse (1.8 m deep and 3.75 m wide), with ‎two baptismal ‎fonts (one ‎quatrifoil, one ‎circular). The apse is ‎flanked by two ‎open rectangular ‎spaces. The ‎baptistery ‎floor is paved ‎in colorful ‎mosaic.‎ Quadrangular chapel Funerary chapels with two superimposed mosaic pavements were attached according to Bagatti (1971, Fig. 37, no. 5), to this church, rather being associated with the Southern Church. 1
