Water flew from the apse through a lead pipe and a settling basin reaching a marble-lined cruciform baptistery installed into the early marble floor in front of the bema. The small size and shallowness of the baptistery indicates that baptism was done by sprinkling rather than by immersion. The plates reveting the cruciform font were inserted into the marble pavement of the church. To the west there was a cistern, 4 m deep, connected to the font. The font is cruciform but conforming only partially to Ben Pechat type 4a. The arms of the cross are concave, unlike type 4a, which has straight arms and right angles between the arms. New font type. |

A grave with a remains of two skeletons is located at the eastern end of the southern aisle. The grave was covered with five stone slabs. In the most eastern stone slab there was a hole with a clay pipe. The pipe was probably used to pour oil into the grave. This suggests that the two people buried there were saints and were venerated in the church. |

Under the bema there is a cave, reached by two staircases from the aisles, on both sides of the sanctuary. It is 7m long and 4.5m wide, with a semi-circular apse 3m in diameter on the east. Many fragmentary screen plates and columnets were uncovered therein. To its west there is a kokhim burial cave, typical to the Second Temple period. |

According to Wiegand (1923), the internal apse was flanked by two pastophoria, while according to the more prevalent plan by Vincent, the apse was polygonal on the outside and a pastophorium might have been existing only on the north. At the absence of clear finds, this issue cannot be determined. |
