A staircase leads from the southern end of the narthex to a vaulted crypt, located under the chapel in the southern wing of the church. |
A burial crypt. It seemingly served for the burial of clergy and monks. Bones of about thirty male skeletons were uncovered in it. |

A stone box (65x35 cm) under-altar reliquary was found in a 35cm deep depression on the cord of the apse. Remains of the altar itself were not uncovered. |
An oval baptismal font, masonry built, was installed in the southern pastophorium under emperor Maurice (582-602). A mosaic inscription date it to Dec. 585. The two eastern units of the southern annex constituted together a three-units baptistery. |
